[section_title title=Conclusion]Conclusion

Now that we have put the Corsair Flash Voyager GTX through its paces, how does it hold up? Does it live up to the expectations of being compared to an SSD or should it remain a normal USB device? Only one way to find out.

Looking at performance first and I have some mixed emotions. It performed better than anything I have ever tested, or could find online in the way of a consumer grade USB Flash Device, but I could not reproduce the max speeds as advertised on the packaging. So while I was happy with the overall speeds I achieved in comparison to other devices, I still was a little sad if I’m honest. There are of course a lot of contributing factors to why I may not have reached the same speeds as Corsair had advertised but at the end of the day, it is what it is and it out performed anything else I could find.

Taking a look at the design and it is what we have come to know and love from Corsair. It is sleek, stylish and practical. The black aluminium body not only adds to the attractiveness of the device, it adds a practical aspect as well in the fact it will help to dissipate whatever heat is generated from the device to make sure it stays cool and runs at maximum performance. The Corsair branding is kept to a minimum and the addition of a bit of red plastic really helps to set off the overall look, especially as it is part of the ‘GTX’ series.

The price may seem a bit high at first but you have to remember what you are getting. You are looking at paying 106.98 (128GB) and £208.98(256MB) respectively. You will be hard pressed to find anything that compares to this and in my search I only found 1 or 2 other devices that were close to matching performance. It is hard to put a price on the best of the best and should be left down to the individual consumer and their needs.

At the end of the day the price may seem high but you are getting what you pay for, a USB Flash Device that offers top-notch performance coupled with Corsair’s second to none warranty and customer support. If the performance alone is not enough to persuade you into purchasing the Corsair Flash Voyager GTX maybe the 5 year limited warranty will help put you over the top. If you want the best of the best, this is it.

I would like to thank Corsair for sending the Flash Voyager GTX in for review and hope to see more from them in the near future.
