Life’s Good when you’re always ahead of the curve, isn’t it? LG has always been quite innovative and precise in the line of providing quality displays globally. LG has set the bar really high when it comes to pushing out one of the best displays but keeping in mind the budget of the consumer. LG products have always been quite well thought out in terms of design, performance and pricing. 1440p monitors have been leading the market for quite a while now because of their versatile nature and relatively cheaper solutions as compared to 4K panels while rivaling their performance.

LG’s upcoming UltraGear 27GL850G, debuted in CES 2019, is an entirely new experience as it is packed with a whole lot of new features and significant improvements. The most impressive feature to be noticed would be the optimized refresh rate of 144Hz. The sweet part about this improvement is the NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility which overhauls the entire output up a notch. This overclocks the refresh rate to 160Hz making it one of the crispiest and stutter-free displays out there.

The design is pretty elegant and minimalistic as it features a slim profile along with 3-side Virtually Borderless Design, which means that the bezels are shrunk down to the least to minimize the edges and provide a seamless and uninterrupted gaming experience. The 27” QHD Nano IPS display panel sits in line with this nifty design and offers an immersive outlook.

Now coming on to the more sophisticated side of things, the NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility comes with variable refresh rates from 30-160Hz and includes the impressive viewing angle of 178 degrees. The panel also provides 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space which means better color recognition and improved saturation. The chassis of the monitor also allows variation in terms of placement as it can help you to tilt, rotate and adjust the height of the monitor according to your viewing comfort.

The exterior hardware touches of the monitor include 1x Display Port, 1x HDMI Port, 2x USB 3.0 with fast charging including a USB 3.0 upstream port ,and a 3.5mm headphone jack. This not only expands the wide array of functions that it can perform but also provides ample amount of space to connect any external peripherals to enhance your experience.

Since we are here, let’s get G-Sync sorted out first. G-Sync is the brainchild of NVIDIA as it seamlessly synchronizes with the GPU to enable a seamless, stutter and lag-free viewing experience. Whereas it can also overclock the refresh rates meanwhile maintaining the quality of the output to ensure maximum efficiency. This would definitely be an enormous game changer for the eSports community we have out there as this can compete with other high end monitors and it would be mainly renowned for its responsiveness which plays an important role in the eSports department.

This release is expected this year in 2019 however the date has not been announced yet so what to do now? Go ahead and get yourself a good gaming processor and get ready to utilize the high refresh rate of the 27GL850g, and If you are in need of an honest review on the current situation of the best CPUs for gaming out there then check out the best processor for gaming here.

However, The Nano IPS technology is new and could trigger many false alarms amongst the professional reviewers. Also the price tag could be the issue here as well because native Nvidia G-Sync panels are notoriously known to increase the prices of monitors in an absurd manner and with adaptive sync (Freesync) Being the much more cheaper option and technically providing the same feature (not exactly near to G-sync though) could turn the tables for this monitor in terms of popularity. It’s only a matter of time that we’ll be seeing this monitor being judged by the professionals but so far on paper the LG 27GL850g looks very promising!
