With Microsoft’s release of new headline games prior to the festive season, it seems that competitor Sony are stepping up their game by offering the PlayStation 4 at a reduced price in the UK and Europe.
With the price cut already being in effect stateside, we expect to see the platform coming in at €349.99/£299.99 for the standard 500GB version and is probably not what people want to hear if they have already made an early purchase before Christmas.
This price cut applies to non-European regions as well, so those in New Zealand and Australia will also be able to pick up PS4 consoles slightly cheaper. Right now, Microsoft has not responded with a price cut of its own, though it has dropped the price of the Xbox One significantly since launch. This is the first time that Sony has given the PS4 an official price cut.
Do you think it’s about time that consoles took a plunge and were offered at a lower price, or is the price tag reasonable for the hardware inside? Let us know what you think!
