[section_title title=Introduction]Introduction

Usually when I’m going to discuss a game I’ll start off with introducing you to it and talking a little bit about what the main selling points and features of the title are, and I am going to do that, but first I have a confession to make. When it comes to racing (something I love) I am very much a sim person. I rarely enjoy arcade racing games, in fact to find the last proper arcade racer I enjoyed you’d have to go back to 2008 with Criterion’s Burnout Paradise, and indeed the original Grid that was released the same year.

Grid was a fantastic game with a perfect balance of gameplay to make it appeal to both sim and arcade racers, it was accessible in that anybody could drive the cars, but if you had the skill you could really demonstrate it. In short the original GRID is kind of the Hearthstone of the racing world – easy to understand, but difficult to master, and I haven’t seen a racer that’s done that well since.

So when Grid 2 came out and I read some reviews for it, I was disappointed to say the least and decided to avoid it entirely (I still haven’t played it and I don’t intend to either), so is this new title the true sequel we’ve been waiting for? Will it find that perfect balance that the original GRID did?
