If you have played the original Metro 2033, you’ll be pleased to find this game plays exactly like the original game.  The only thing really added is the fact you can wipe your mask like in Metro: Last Light, which was a little thing added to the Last Light game that I thought was rather cool, and adding it to this game gives it a bit of consistency when playing one after another.  If you haven’t played Metro 2033 at all, this game will play a little like any FPS game out there, except for the fact that you will have to keep tabs on your ammo depending on what difficulty you’re playing on.  You will also have to keep an eye on filters for your gas mask when you need to go up to the surface which does happen quite a bit, your light will also need looked after, you will have to use a little pump mechanism to charge up the light you have.

Something I love about this game is the difficulties that are within the game, which gives you a reason to go back and play it again.  The easiest difficulty you will have an absolute abundance of weapons, ammo, filters and morphine throughout the game which makes the game far too easy to be honest.  The hardest difficulty however is where things get interesting, it will have very scarce amounts of everything, especially filters and the morphine which you need to hunt for, and gives you more reason to hunt every nook and crany in the game.

The monsters within the game are something I do find rather terrifying, especially when playing in the dark, as the game should really be played.  The Librarians are easily the scariest creature you will come across in the game; not only do they take a large amount of shots to put down, they are also incredibly fast which means you need to shoot and run. You can stealth past them, but it is to be done with great difficulty as they can detect you a little easily.  The Nosalis are one of the easier creatures to put down, but they can be difficult to kill because they move fast, and when you see one, there are usually another 5 or 6 around, depending on difficulty.
