We have news about the release date of Quantum Break. Microsoft have announced in a press release that Quantum Break has been pushed back to 2016. Usually, when a game gets delayed, we are told it is for development reasons, or issues around the game, but this time it is something more simple, a crowded market release date.
The Xbox One manufacturer announced in a press release that the third-person shooter was moving into 2016 from the 2015 holiday season. Shannon Loftis, head of publishing said “We’ve got the strongest games line-up in Xbox history right now, with 2015 blockbuster exclusives like Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Fable Legends, and Forza Motorsport 6, and more we’ll announce in the coming months. With so many games launching this year, moving Quantum Break into 2016 extends our incredible portfolio into next year with a monster new IP.”
Sony have also pushed back the big exclusive of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, from holiday 2015 to 2016, but this is solely down to development time. Either way I’m happy with this type of activity from developers. Quick released games are getting worse and worse due to mistakes and errors in coding.
From the exclusives alone from Microsoft, it appears it’s going to be a good year for console gaming.
