Rumours that Google are making their own Android console have surfaced in recent days. According to a post on The Wall Street Journal, Google are making both a console and a watch in an attempt to beat Apple’s own devices that are expected to appear in the near future.
We have however already seen an Android powered games console – the Ouya which came out this week after the funds for its manufacture were raised by a Kickstarter project. The problem is where does this fit? In a market where people play games on every device they own, and the price of current generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony decreasing, what can Google offer on Android to rival the power of a full blown console? It’ll be interesting to see, but Google have not commented on these rumours yet.
