Design – Mionix Nash 20

The Nash 20s are a great set of gaming cans for the £100 mark and are by far the most comfortable set of headphones I have every worn. Combine that with great sound quality from the 50mm drivers and great build quality with a nice soft touch finish and you are on to a winner.

No other headset I’ve tested has come close in overall pleasure of use as whilst they don’t quite match the sound clarity of the H2100s from Corsair they eclipse them in terms of comfort. If you want a supremely comfortable headset with a nice stealthy look to it the Nash 20 should be right up there on your list.

Performance – Corsair Gaming H2100 (review coming very soon)

The H2100s from Corsair are an impressive bit of kit, with great sound quality and decent battery life they are a winner when it comes to providing that wireless convenience and the build quality is superb too. The mic is great too but for me they just aren’t well padded enough to use for the extended periods I find myself sat in front of the PC sometimes; nonetheless if you only game for a couple of hours at a time and want wireless functionality the H2100s are very much worth consideration.

Value – Kingston HyperX Cloud

The HyperX clouds are a great headset full stop, but when you consider the asking price it’s hard to tell most people that they need to spend anymore! The audio quality is great, the mic is superb, the build quality is solid and the finish is very pleasant too, in all areas the Clouds are a winner. Thicker padding would help them a lot though I feel as relatively thinly padded headband is a limiting factor on long term wear, they are still a good 2-3 hour headset easily though.

I know I may catch some flack for calling a £65 headset best value but for me there is a distinction between ‘budget’ and value. For me the HyperX clouds are the best value headset I’ve tested because you have to spend out at least another £10-£15 before you get something even remotely as good, which is what makes them the de facto headset I recommend to people looking to spend less than £75.

Overall – Mionix Nash 20

Overall I have to go with the Nash 20s as my headset of the year, the plush padding, gorgeous looks and solid sound quality make them my personal headset of choice and in terms of gaming headsets they are about as much as you can spend without being better off with proper headphones and a mod mic/desk mic.

As said above, if like me comfort is your number one priority in a gaming headset, the Nash 20s should be number one on your shopping list at this price point!
