[section_title title=”Conclusion”]Conclusion
In the last few weeks we’ve covered a variety of earphones and each one seemed to have a certain aim and/or market in mind when it came to the product in question. Cooler Master have cast that aside with the Resonar and appear to have gone for everything at once.
First up, the sound quality and the inclusion of the BassFX is nothing short of fantastic as far as I’m concerned. I was initially apprehensive about the the possible implementation of BassFX but it’s a satisfying, well applied function that doesn’t come at the detriment of anything else and perhaps most importantly it’s fun.
The build quality of the Resonar is reassuring and the use of flat cabling should mean less tangles and therefore a longer cable lifespan due to less strain when you just bundle the earphones away in your pocket. In addition to this, the move towards an aluminium housing for the drivers themselves similar to what House of Marley used on the Uplift means the cans themselves are relatively strong for their size and weight. The plastic casing on the volume control is a touch of a let down, however, and feels at odds with the rest of the product.
Last bot not least, and to touch upon the opening paragraph, £40 isn’t a lot of a pair of earphones and yet Cooler Master have seemingly swept aside both the Marley and AKG offerings for a similar cost. They aren’t as light as the AKG, but sound better and have inline controls. They’re not as eco-friendly and arguably as cool as the Uplift, but cost less and sound better with the same functionality. In summary, there isn’t a better earphone option out there as far as I know for £40.
Summary
Excellent earphones from Cooler Master that should meet and exceed the needs of anyone looking for some relatively cheap earphones. The compatibility across devices and BassFX functionality are unmatched at this price.
