The One-Eighties comes in a plain brown box, with a small slip containing the product details, which is dependant on the edition you have.
Once you have removed the slip and opened the box, the contents slide out on moulded EVA fabric. Inside you get the following: One-Eighties headphones, neoprene case, 3.5mm headphone jack cable + one with inline control, 1/4″ jack adaptor for connecting to various audio equipment like decks and amps, flight adaptor and two AAA batteries.
The black-out edition One-Eighties are completely black, except for some chrome detailing and some grey highlights around the ear cups. The headphones can be folded into a more compact size, making it easier to transport. The headphones have circular shape ear cups with leatherette cushions, with an oval cut-out for your ears, to help keep out unwanted background noise.Â
Each ear cup can be adjusted to give you the best fit possible.
More leatherette covered foam is featured on the headband to provide additional comfort.
To provide power for the ANC and the bass boost mode, the One-Eighties require two AAA batteries, which are inserted in the left ear cup. The 3.5mm jack ported is located next to the battery compartment.
On the right ear cup, you have a switch that enables you to flick between the different audio modes: default (unpowered), ANC and Extreme’s Vortex Drive (Bass boost).
The different modes have their own LED colour to help indicate what setting it is on at a glance. White: ANC, Green: VTX
So that’s pretty much how the One-Eighties look, now let’s see how they perform.
