[section_title title=Closer Look – Interior]Closer Look –Â Interior
Starting on the interior and I thought I would switch it up a bit and show you all the back first. Nothing fancy going on here at all. We can see the cutout in the motherboard tray for CPU cooler installation, cutouts for cable management and the backside of the hard drive trays.
One of the main concerns for users choosing new cases in this day and age is cable management. Unfortunately that is where the Comrade is seriously lacking. Not only are there no clips to help attach zipties on the back, there is also a little less than 1CM clearance for cables in general.
Taking a look from the main side of the case and we have a good view of most of the features the Comrade offers. Â On the right hand side we have 3 x 5.25″, 3 x 3.5″ and 3 x 2.5″ drive bays. Moving to the left we can see the 4 x cutouts for cable management, is a real shame there are no rubber grommets installed in these. On the motherboard tray we can see plenty of risers/holes to install motherboards. Please note the Comrade does not require the use of standoffs to mount the motherboard. Â In the motherboard tray is a nice cutout for easy CPU cooler installation and blow the motherboard tray a massive cutout for all the cables coming from the PSU to go through to the back. We can also notice part of the included 120mm fan and the PSU cutout in the back panel.
When it comes to installing drives into the Comrade the only time you will need a screwdriver or any tools is when using the 2.5″ drive trays. Well, that is if you want to keep them drives in place that is.
Just a closer look at the cutouts for cable management and some of the risers used for mounting the motherboard.
