Conclusion
Whilst this is one seriously nice looking case, I struggle to recommend it over the SG13 that I had to pack away whilst building this. It wasn’t a fun experience, and its almost like everything that could have been annoying or silly to do, they did with this case. Although sometimes people could consider these common flaws of small form factor cases, I think a few of the major issues could have been avoided with forethought. This mainly comes back to the placement of the PSU over and over again. Because its hard to run an ATX PSU without struggling with cable management, or even worse not being able to fit your power supply in the case.
I can really only recommend this case to be something to consider if you have a tight budget and perhaps a seriously large GPU. It was a little disappointing after reviewing such an amazing Silverstone SG13 to then run into so many problems with the Octan which is bigger.
Should you want this case, purchase an SFX PSU. It will give you more space to hide cables, but be prepared to put some time aside for building the Xigmatek Octans. The case does look really nice on the outside! But the internals are baffling, you could even mount a CD drive because the internal chassis is from another case. But after all of this – I still don’t think it is bad case. However if I was looking to buy a shuttle case at this price mark – I find it hard to recommend this over the SG13, my in-house case of choice for budget SFF systems. So it then comes down to a choice of “what you think looks better on your desk”.
The Xigmatek Octans has a  long way to go before I’ll recommend this over my in-house favourite “the SG13”.Â
Summary
Pros:
Great cooling
Super cheap case
Looks Awesome
Cons:
Clearly someone wasn’t thinking when they measured out the case.
Reused panels taken from several product lines makes me a little cheeky.
I can only recommend SFX PSU instead of the rated ATX PSU compliant support.
