[section_title title=”Installation”]Installation
Installation was as easy as one would hope for with a cooler. First you get the backplate out and figured out which side and holes you will need to match with the CPU socket you will be installing it on.
Once you know which holes you need you can take the corresponding screws and push them through the backplate.
Next you will go ahead and push the screws through the back of the motherboard and secure them into place with the included pillars.
As I am using this on an Intel socket I have the Intel brackets, Depending on how you want the fan to place you can set the brackets on top of 2 of the screws and secure it with the included nuts. Please note the arrows on the bracket itself that should be pointing towards the CPU socket.
Once that is done it is now time to apply your thermal paste and get ready to install the Brocken ECO on the brackets you have just secured to the motherboard. You will need to get the included crossbar and slide it down the middle of the cooler to get it into place. Once you have done this and applied your thermal paste set the Brocken ECO onto the brackets and fasten it down. To do so you will want to line the cross bar up with the screws on the middle of the brackets.
Once that is done you can secure the fan to the cooler with the included retention clips.
Be careful when installing the Brocken ECO. Depending on how you install it you may need to install your RAM first, you will also need to measure it if it has heatsinks to make sure it will fit. As you can see after the cooler is fitted on the CPU I would only be able to install RAM into 3 of my 4 slots.
