Thermal Performance

Starting with the chart showing the CPU at 3900mhz idle, we see a delta temp of 4’C. Nothing exceptional here but certainly nothing embarrassing either.

Moving up to a fully loaded CPU as Prime95 does its thing, the delta increases to 28.3’C. Again, this is fairly average but still nothing to be ashamed about.

Now we come to overclocking the CPU and again we start by looking at the idle temps. We see the Arctic start to pull ahead of some of its rivals with a delta of just 4.5’C

Boom, Headshot! I honestly thought that the trio of Fractal Design Kelvin coolers would stay at the top of our OC/ load chart for many months, possibly all the way through to our changeover to Skylake, but Arctic steals the trophy for being top of the 120mm coolers thanks to it’s enormous radiator and all that extra liquid that it is cooling.
