When people hear the name Noctua, most that are familiar with the name instantly think of high-end CPU coolers, fans and accessories. Over the years, Noctua has done a great job of making a name for themselves as one of the leading manufacturers of air CPU coolers. Noctua’s NH-D14 cooler was a force to be reckoned with for quite some time and was eventually upgraded with the D15.
Another thing that may instantly pop into people’s heads when they hear Noctua is the colour scheme they chose to use for their fans for the longest time. It was a two-tone brownish colour and it was the topic of many conversations. In 2014, Noctua decided to give their customers what they had been asking for, Noctua fans that offer amazing performance with a different colour scheme. The redux and industrialPPC feature different colour schemes from each other and that of the previous Noctua offering and were of course a big hit.
Today I will be taking a look at one of the latest Noctua coolers to hit the market by way of the Nh-U9sS The U9S from here on out is a smaller CPU cooler that features a 90mm fan, five heat pipes and a nice tower design. The U9S features a 95x95mm footprint and is said to not overhang the RAM slots on most Intel and AMD motherboards. Knowing Noctua’s reputation it will be interesting to see how well the new U9S will stack up.
Before we get into it, let’s check out a quick unboxing video I did for the U9s:
