[section_title title=”Installation”]Installation
With Thermalright’s hardware and design, installation is as easy as can be. Firstly it requires us to get the backplater out, push the screws through the corresponding hole for out socket type and then hold them in place with the included washers.
After that is done we can push the screws through the back of the motherboard and use the included thumb screws to keep the backplate in place and get ready to mount the frontplate.
After getting the backplate attached to the motherboard we can now set the front plate atop the thumb screws for the backplate and use the included screws to screw the frontplate down to the thumbscrews.
Now that the frontplate is in place the fun can begin. Apply your TIM whichever way suits you best, set the cooler atop the CPU then slide the cooler retention plate though the cooler, on top of the contact plate then screw it down to the frontplate via the 2 included screws.
Once the cooler is fastened down you can go about putting the fans on. One thing to notice is the fact that once on the fans would not leave any room for clearance if your RAM has tall heatsinks. However, depending on your motherboard you may be ok. As you can see in the image below on my ASUS Z97-K, the fan from the heatsink only partially blocks one RAM DIMM and with a bit of effort I am sure I could have gotten some RAM with heatsinks in there.
