Overclocking
Overclocking was a pleasurable experience with the ZOTAC GTX 960 AMP! 2GB graphics card, in fact too easy due to the nature of the NVIDIA GPU Boost 2.0 technology; it can be difficult too if you aren’t good at working out limits. The ZOTAC does come with a pretty hefty stock overclock of 1266MHz on the core with 1329MHz boost; I was fairly impressed to be able to push this card even further.
I managed to get a modest overclock of around 1401MHz on the boost core of this particular card which isn’t the fastest but it does mirror the kind of results I got from the GTX 980 AMP! Extreme edition card; great out of the box stock clocks, but fairly limited overclocking headroom. Although this isn’t a detriment to the card, the results didn’t really give much of a yield for the extra heat and power obtained via overclocking. Given that this is a 1 x 6pin PCI-E powered card and the fact that it is so tiny (8.19”” in length), I can forgive it this time as I feel ZOTAC have done a decent job of offering a total package.
