[section_title title=”Closer Look”]Closer Look

Time for a closer look at the mouse itself.

g302.5

Starting from the front you can see just how slim the G302 is, it really is a small mouse and there is no question that it is claw/finger grip only. The first thing I noticed was that the scroll wheel looked familiar, and that’s because it’s the same one we saw on the G402. We’ve also got separate mouse buttons which are a popular feature on competitive grade mice and we can also see a DPI toggle switch.

The left hand side of the mouse is fairly clean, punctuated only by the two thumb buttons which are both nicely spaced and decently sized. You can also see the honeycomb style shiny plastic bit which lights up when the mouse is powered on.

g302.8

The right hand side of the mouse is completely smooth, it doesn’t come off very well in these shots but the mouse is very tapered in shape.

g302.9

Here is a shot that does show the shape though, as well as a glimpse at the lens of the AM010 optical sensor. As you can see there are no two ways about it, you won’t be palm gripping this mouse!

Finally here we have a shot of the mouse all lit up complete with glowing G series logo, doesn’t it look pretty? From a looks point of view I like the G302, Logitech do have a nasty habit of making their gaming products look a bit gaudy but this mouse looks nice and clean in my opinion. There are also features like the kink free cable and light weight construction that make the mouse feel like it is going to be good, but before we get ahead of ourselves lets take a look at the Logitech Gaming software.
