[section_title title=”Conclusion”]Conclusion

BitFenix have been a regular feature here at Play3r and it’s nice to get accustomed to so many different products from a brand as it gives me the bigger picture on the entire range.  Today is the first day a BitFenix branded PSU has been in my midst and this year is the debut of the Fury range so hopefully this year will be an even better year than the last.  Obviously this is a review so I’ll get straight to the point and give you the lowdown…

With the BitFenix Fury 750w power supply having such a good quality OEM like FSP, it is inevitable that the Fury range is going to be a decent performer.  Although we don’t currently possess an ATE load tester (which we would love), I did manage to use probes to measure the performance/efficiency in the best way I could and overall, the BitFenix Fury did a great job.  The results on the 5V rail were a particular highlight and overall, the 12v and 3.3v were well within the 80 PLUS guidelines.  If I had to pick out a possible grievance it would be that the 135mm included fan can be a little noisy when under full load and especially when compared to other brands such as Enermax.  With that being said, the Fury 750G still does great overall!

In terms of design, this is where BitFenix had the chance to flex their arms and be creative.  I have to say “mission accomplished” in this regard as the Fury 750G looks fantastic.  Even when built inside a case, it has a lovely look to it and although the rear external vent is a bit average, the crest on the top makes it stand out from the rest.  Although this might not be to everyone’s tastes, I feel BitFenix have a very good looking debut PSU on their hands and I think with more planning with the next, it could be one of the most unique looking power supplies on the market.

The most unique feature about the BitFenix 750G 750w power supply is the fantastic Alchemy braided cables which it comes supplied with.  This is the first premium power supply I have seen so far that includes such cabling and I have to say this is welcomed with open arms.  Not only does this help with cable management which in turn helps out with airflow, but it makes this PSU look even better; who wants to spend a load of money on a premium product that looks cheap?  One thing I would have to say about the Alchemy cabling is that they can kink out of uniform a little, especially on the 24-pin ATX cable which can easily be solved with cable combs; obviously at your expense.

Price wise the BitFenix Fury 750G can be had for £119.99 from Overclockers UK.  Although this isn’t the cheapest semi-modular 750w power supply on the market, it certainly isn’t the cheapest considering.  One factor I feel you are paying extra for is the premium Alchemy cabling that the Fury utilises and when you consider the saving made when considering braided cabling, the price works out very well in my opinion.  Of course there are many options available but when you look at the overall package, BitFenix have done an excellent job of making an all-round premium product at what I would say is a very reasonable price considering.

Overall the BitFenix Fury 750G ticks all the right boxes, it looks brilliant, it performs great and although the fan can be a little noisy under full load, I would be surprised if you could hear it over your graphics card anyway, I certainly couldn’t!  If you are in the market for a new power supply, want support for SLI/CF, need to make use of the Haswell low power states (which the Fury supports) and it has to be good quality, make sure you check out the BitFenix Fury 750G.

A big thanks to BitFenix/Overclockers UK for sending the 750G in for review and I look forward to seeing more in the near future.

Summary

The Fury 750G has had the full BitFenix design treatment and it shows with it’s aesthetically pleasing look. From the included Alchemy cable braiding all the way down to it’s fantastic 5V performance, the Fury 750G should be highly considered when looking for a power supply capable of powering a 2 way SLI/CF configuration.
