be quiet! is a name synonymous with quality cooling and power products including their Dark Rock cooling range and their Dark/Straight power supply ranges.  With their main emphasis being on solid, efficient and silent cooling, it is no surprise that this German company has been making waves on the market since 2006.  They have many awards to their name including being number 1 for power supplies in Germany and winning manufacturer of the year 8 times in a row in PCG magazine, so we are excited to get our first slice of the be quiet! Power supply pie on our test bench.

In particular today, I will be taking a look at one of their latest power supplies in the form of the Straight Power E9 680w which features a peak 680w peak power while conforming to the 80 PLUS Gold efficiency rating.  It has a semi modular design and should prove popular with consumers if their Dark Rock Pro cooler range is anything to go by.
