[section_title title=Conclusion]Conclusion

As many of you may know we at Play3r do not currently have an ATE load tester so our performance tests are done a bit different. For the time being we use a multi-meter and while it cannot test for things like ripple in the lines, it is what we can do for now and is better than nothing.

So with that being said, our performance tests returned results that where within the acceptable ranges.  If our testing is not enough to satisfy your needs well then let us remember the PSU does have an 80+ Bronze Certification and is also backed by a 3-year warranty so should anything go wrong it will be easy enough to get it replaced. With the performance tests I was able to carry out and knowing SilverStones reputation I feel comfortable in saying that as a whole, performance should not be an issue with the ST50F-ESB, it should live up to its advertised specifications.

When considering design, the ST50F-ESB is more so designed to be an affordable PSU with an 80+ rating, rather than that of an aesthetically pleasing nature and this is fine, for the most part. The ST50F-ESB has been planned out and designed well and as such should perform at its advertised specifications but when it comes to the aesthetics, there is one major thing that drives me nuts. When it comes to the lower-end PSUs companies like to stick a big sticker on one side that shows off some of the technical specifications and I will just say this, I don’t like it at all and without it the power supplies would look much better. All the information on said sticker is readily available elsewhere and not needed on the side of the PSU.

The value of the ST50F-ESB is right in the ballpark of where it should be. At the end of the day, it will do what it is advertised to do and if you are looking specifically for a SilverStone branded PSU then it should be right up your alley. As with beauty, value is in the eye of the beholder and while the ST50F-ESB may cost a couple extra ££ at some places, it is not really a big enough price difference to make a fuss about.

I would like to thank SilverStone for sending the ST50F-ESB in for review and look forward to seeing more from them in the future.
