[section_title title=Conclusion]Conclusion

Jumping right into things when it comes to the performance of the HyperX Fury USB drive and looking back at the benchmarks we need to remember this drive only costs a fraction of the others we here at Play3r have tested.

The Performance of the Fury USB was actually better than expected. According to Kingston it should have a read speed of up to 90MB/s and a write speed of 30MB/s. However, in all my tests these speeds were exceeded, especially the read speed which on average was 50MB/s higher than its rating. This is very pleasing to see as most times it is the opposite, the actual performance lacks behind the rated abilities. The write speed on average was almost 10MB/s higher than the rating would leave us to believe as well. Kudos to Kingston for surprising us with a bit of extra performance.

On the design front, there is not a whole lot to say. All the drives are black in colour but depending on the size you get they may have a different colour accenting. Kingston have also designed it so the sides where most users will be gripping the drive to insert/remove it from their desired device has a bit of a grip instead of just a smooth plastic surface. The cap can also be stored on the end of the device to help ensure users won’t lose it. For a USB you really can’t ask for more, while simple the design was well thought out in my opinion, even for a budget device.

When it comes to the price and value to performance ratio the Fury is a good buy. While it may be a bit more expensive than normal 16GB USB drives it should also offer a bit better performance and being backed by Kingston makes it worth the bit extra in my opinion. Also for the £10 it has a 5 year warranty so you really can’t go wrong at just £2 a year for a 16GB USB3 drive.

When it comes down to it the Kingston HyperX Fury is a well-designed USB drive that offers great performance for its price. It also comes backed by a 5 year warranty so this should help give those considering purchasing it piece of mind.

I would like to thank Kingston for sending the HyperX Fury in for review and look forward to seeing more from them in the future.
