[section_title title=”Conclusion”]Conclusion

Normally I would start my conclusion with the value prospect of the item I’d reviewed, but I’m just not convinced there is one for the Xenta LT-201 either on its own credentials or compared to, quite frankly, better options even for half the price.

Audio performance was quite literally dire, and compared to the £18 Logitech Z150 I reviewed, comically dire. The Xenta has it’s wireless capability no doubt, but here (Z150) we’ve got a set of stereo speakers that do no worse in the bass department but obliterate it in every other. They’re also from a reputable company you can track down by every method of communication imaginable and have a three year warranty even though they cost less than your Christmas beer deal at your local Tesco.

The only redeeming feature of the LT-201 is that of it’s Bluetooth capability, which, was actually fine and in no way lacking. Connection was quick and easy and signal strong. I mentioned something about Xenta’s courtesy during the introduction, I wonder if the Bluetooth capability here is Xenta being courteous so that you can disconnect from a safe distance and save yourself from the awful sound performance.

To finish up, then, the Xenta LT-201 just isn’t a product worth your time. There are vastly better alternatives at the same price and lower available from better manufacturers. The manufacturer issue here isn’t as much of a deal as Xenta being unknown(to me at least) – the actual package looks solid as well as the unit itself – but when you’ve got the likes of Logitech and House of Marley products in knocking distance there is no need to be stupid with your cash.

Summary

The LT-201 looks modern and stylish enough but the performance just isn’t worth your money. Cheaper, better options are out there and aren’t likely to ruin your Christmas parties, either.
