Gateway to the digital world: New Philips USB docking display

  • Fantastic connectivity: single-cable USB 3.0 docking
  • Attention to ergonomics and easy adjustability
  • IPS panel, excellent viewing angles and colour reproduction

Amsterdam, 29 June 2017 – In a world that’s more interconnected than ever, business users appreciate smart, easy ways to connect the numerous digital devices they need to stay productive at work. This 24-inch display, by MMD, the leading technology company and brand license partner for Philips monitors, is a new USB docking monitor. Especially suitable for ultra-book type devices with limited connectivity, flex work places, and dynamic users, this display transmits video, audio, and connects to the Internet or Intranet – all through a single SuperSpeed USB cable. It also gives access to all peripherals which are connected to the monitor through a USB hub with three USB 3.0 ports.

Gateway to the digital world: USB hub connectivity
Artem Khomenko, Product Manager Philips monitors Europe at MMD, explains why USB docking is so vital: “We are seeing increasing convergence of digital media platforms such as PCs, notebooks, smartphones and tablets, and mobile connectivity is growing in importance. For many business users, the display is a single platform for streaming content from a range of devices. The fantastic connectivity of this new display is the answer to these needs.”

With its built-in USB 3.0 hub and Ethernet, the innovative 241B7QUPEB B-line display enables users connect their notebook and transfer content effortlessly to the more spacious screen.

Peripherals such as a full-sized keyboard, mouse, external HDD, camera and USB drive can be connected to the display’s USB hub. This is especially practical for ultra-slim notebooks that have few connectors of their own. One set of peripherals consumers won’t need to attach, though, is speakers: the display comes with two integrated stereo speakers of its own, for excellent audio reproduction.

Viewing quality for professionals
The display’s easy connectivity is matched by great viewing quality, Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and accurate colours to reproduce content clearly and sharply. With advanced IPS technology, the display assures crisp images with vivid colours, and great viewing angles.

Committed to well being
The latest 24-inch B-line display reinforces the commitment of MMD to making displays that not only aim to help consumers be more productive, but also strive for providing long-term well-being benefits. 241B7QUPEB features Philips LowBlue Mode, which uses a smart software technology to reduce the shortwave blue light that can have a detrimental impact on eyesight over time. Additionally, the display is equipped with an ergonomic adjustable base. SmartErgoBase enables the display to be height-adjusted, pivoted through 90 degrees, tilted and swivelled exactly to the right position – ensuring a better posture for desk-based work.

But this is not all – the new display includes even more features to keep people fatigue-free for longer. The display includes Flicker-free technology, a solution to regulate brightness and reduce flicker for more comfortable viewing on LED-backlit screens. SmartImage, an exclusive leading edge Philips technology, analyses screen content and dynamically optimises contrast, colour saturation and sharpness of images and videos for ultimate display performance.

The Philips 241B7QUPEB B-line display, with an RRP of £ 239.00, will be available in June 2017.
