Closer Look
Getting a proper look at the Clash Evolution and on the first take, they look a bit small, almost as if they were designed for children. However, while they are on-ear headphones, they do just about cover your ears when wearing them.
The headband itself is made from some sort of leather which gives off a really nice look. On the inside of the headband, the part that will set directly on users heads, there is a bit of padding to help ensure there are no issues with the comfort of the Clash Evolution headphones.
The earcups connect to the headband via a metal arm that passes through a plastic housing which will allow the users to adjust the size of the headphones, making them a universal fit. This metal arm will also allow users to tilt/swivel the earcups which will help them conform better to the individual shape of the users head.
If you have a hard time remembering which side is which, you will always be able to look on the inside of the headphones to find the L and R indications on which earcup is which.
The outside of the earcups are a nice brushed aluminium which is certainly a crowd pleaser. A single earcup is used for all the controls and connections needed to get the most out of the Clash Evolution headphones. On this earcup, users will find the power, play/pause and call answering button on the top. The sides are used for volume controls and track changing while the bottom just has a nice “KS” logo on it, below which just to the right we can see the LED indicator to let us know if the headphones are on, or, in Bluetooth scanning mode.
On the bottom of the earcup is where users will find the connections ports so they can charge the headphones or use a 3.5mm audio cable(included in the box).
The padding on the earcups is a nice soft leather which should hold up well on those long listening sessions. Inside the middle of the earcup, KitSound have gone with a nice yellow fabric to add a bit of flair to the Clash Evolutions headphones, only when not wearing them of course. This is also protecting the 40mm drivers that the headphones are using to offer a great sound for their size.
