DriveStation Mini Thunderbolt SSD edition doubles regular Thunderbolt SSD and quadruples USB 3.0 speeds

London, UK, 10 December 2013 – Buffalo Technology, the global manufacturer of innovative storage, networking and wireless solutions, today launches one of the world’s fastest portable storage devices, the DriveStation Mini Thunderbolt SSD edition (SSD-WAT).

Featuring two SSD drives as well as two Thunderbolt ports; the device offers unparalleled interface transfer speeds, more than double those of regular Thunderbolt SSD drives and at least four times faster than USB 3.0. Its read speed exceeds 760MB/s and write speeds are more than 615MB/s, enabling users to transfer up to 800MB of data (or 1,000 photos) in just 1.3 seconds.

In addition, the DriveStation Mini Thunderbolt SSD is pre-formatted for use with Mac OS X and supports the daisy-chain function, allowing users to connect up to six Thunderbolt devices, without reducing performance.

Paul Hudson, Sales Director for Northern Europe at Buffalo Technology, said: “The new DriveStation Mini Thunderbolt SSD device offers users unparalleled transfer speeds, blowing even regular Thunderbolt SSD devices out of the water. This launch represents the quality and high performance our customers have come to expect, but significantly raises the bar on how users transfer and store data”.

“The drive is perfect for creative professionals, including design agencies and users with a large amount of multimedia who require a secure and compact storage device, with no compromise on performance or price. This revolutionary Thunderbolt technology will transform their working lives, allowing them to transfer significantly large amounts of data in a matter of seconds.”

The SSD-WAT also comes in a stylish, Mac-like design making it aesthetically pleasing and practical to use for all Mac users, along with a three-year warranty.
