It looks like we are getting another remastered game on current gen consoles. After the release of titles like GTAV, Halo: MCC, and countless others, we are now getting a “brand new” version of Dark Souls II with the new subtitle of Scholar of the First Sin.

This re-release, which is coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3, will come with an expanded story featuring additional in-game events and non-player characters along with new, deadlier enemies and gameplay improvements.

The current gen version of the games will take full advantage of the next-gen consoles’ hardware. It will look closely like the PC version of the title. The question on everyone’s lips seems to be, will it resemble the screenshots and trailers that we have seen online. My biggest guess is no it won’t, but I have been proven wrong before.

Owners of last gen game will get all of the re-balancing and matchmaking upgrades for free, but all the extras will need to be purchased I’m afraid. The expansion you can purchase will include all the DLC content, so you won’t have to repurchase it.

Dark Souls ll isn’t a game that keeps me coming back to it. In fact is infuriates me to the point of wanting to quit gaming altogether, which is kind of the point with this title.

Has any of you ventured into the Dark Souls universe? Are you buying this expansion? Let us know in the comments below.
