AUDIO AND GRAPHICS

Audio in this particular game is very important, because you need to listen for certain monsters like Nosalis.  They are creatures that make a loud noise that sounds like a mutated dog howling in a way which is a little freaky to hear when playing the game at around half 2 at night!  In general though the audio is fantastic, and going through this game can be scary due to the sounds going through the metro tunnels and then up on the surface, not to mention how scary the Librarians noises are…  Something a little disappointing with this game is the fact that there don’t seem to be many voice actors for the English translation of the game, which makes talking to people a little bland.  The Russian translation of the game is better to listen to with subtitles on though because it just generally sounds better, only problem with that is the fact that you’ll be stuck reading through the game instead of just listening and looking at people.

Metro-Redux-Preview-1

Graphically this game is beautiful to look at, even if it is after a nuclear holocaust, especially when you’re running through the surface.  You will need a pretty good graphics card to run this game on it’s highest settings, my GTX 970 runs it smoothly, but anything below that could face some problems when trying the higher settings.  You will run into some textures that don’t look amazing, but they are few and far between, other than that, you will love the look of this game, it really is one of those games that can pull you in with simply how good it looks, especially if you compare it to the original game.  You will see some things you will find beautiful in a tragic sort of way too, things like seeing the bones of families who didn’t quite make it to the metro station and the like.
