In recent years, overclocking has become much simpler and much more accessible to people like you and I thanks to a much wider range of hardware and guides online and for the past 3 years, Asus ROG have hosted the ROG OC Showdown Formula Series a series of online overclocking competitions that target Air, Water and Extreme overclockers and are open to everyone.

Yesterday Asus announced their latest OC competition, one that is entirely team based and you cannot be entered alone. Each of the 5 stages that are available have various limitations on them that allow for overclockers from all tiers at HWBOT to enter so whether you’re a budding rookie enthusiast or elite ranking bracket then there’s something for everyone.

The complete rules can be found at OC-eSports but here’s a quick overview of the stages and limitations:

The prize pool for the competition is worth over $5000 in Hardware and with the list of prizes they have I can tell you that I’ll certainly be trying my hand at winning something. Personally if I manage to beat someone using who’s using LN2 with my liquid cooling setup then I’m going to be more than happy.
