MSI Stand
MSI was, of course, the main sponsor of the event, their overclocking academy provided the motherboards and graphics cards for the competition itself. MSI also had a nice display set up where they had some swag that was free to grab, as well as showcasing some of their impressive lineup of hardware. As with most events the swag goes quick but the computers and laptops they had set up were there for the whole weekend for people to enjoy.
One of the laptops they had on display was actually their flagship GT80 2QE TITAN SLI behemoth of a notebook. The GT80 features a 4th Gen Intel i7 CPU, 18.4″ screen, GeForce GTX 980M SLI, up to 32GB DDR3 RAM and up to 1024GB Super RAID 3 + 1TB HDD 7200rpm so you have more than even power and storage available for whatever you may need.
Also on display was the GS30 2M SHADOW notebook which is capable of utilizing a proper desktop graphics card to power it up for the ultimate gaming experience. The actual notebook features a 13.3″ screen so is easily carried with you where ever you may go, but as you can see, when you get back to your home or office, you can hook it up to the box underneath which features a fully fledged desktop GPU and then connect it to a normal monitor and keyboard/mouse to enhance the gaming experience. This may seem crazy but I would imagine it is quite convenient for those who do a bit of travelling and don’t want to have to worry about switching all their data between separate PC’s.
Also on display, they had a bench setup with all the hardware that was fully ready to support LN2 overclocking of the CPU. The show bench also had one of the beautiful MSI Lighting Graphics cards on it to help draw some attention to it. Although technically, this specific GTX 780Ti doesn’t exist, with its custom backplate.
Great write up and very detailed 🙂
As Greg said, very accurate and interesting read. Hopefully, more people will become interested.
Looking forward to the next one.
