Final Thoughts
When all is said and done, the event was good fun! There was plenty of overclocking going on from experienced users and they were always nice enough to answer questions that any of the new comers may have, or, even lend a hand if need be. There was plenty of hardware to go around and anyone that wanted to was able to get their hands on a bit of LN2 fun.
If you are interested in overclocking or just PC hardware in general these events are a great place to get acquainted with it all and have some fun with a great group of people. Aside from the new comers, everyone is quite knowledgeable and more than happy to answer a few questions on most things to do with LN2 and overclocking in general.
There was a couple of world records broken via Roman and Ian, but their efforts did seem to kill quite a few graphics cards which led to Mr Der8uer reaching for his soldering iron on a regular basis.  Our fellow overclocking guru gavbon also had a great event; he lost both heats by 1 point and in the 2nd, his opponent was the 2nd highest ranked overclocker in the UK.  A mightily impressive achievement and a lot of respect between fellow competitors and, of course, the community as a whole.
Big thanks to everyone that got involved, especially the main sponsors and the lovely Grain Store that provided the location for the event. Some of the sponsors included: MSI, Team Great Britain Over-clockers, Cooler Master, Intel, G.Skill, MidLife Gamers, AVerMedia Box.co.uk, Plextor and many more.
If you are interested in learning more or maybe even being able to attend the next event, make sure to follow MSI UK and Team Great Britain Over-clockers so you will know when the next event will be held. Â Alternatively you can let us know via social media as gavbon (our boss) is a huge advocate of the overclocking community and wants to help it grow; huge shout-out to Dagmar (HiVizMan) for being the glue that held the weekend together!
Great write up and very detailed 🙂
As Greg said, very accurate and interesting read. Hopefully, more people will become interested.
Looking forward to the next one.
