Closer Look
Now we will take a look at the Corsair Hybrid in more detail and what comes in the box. Beginning, as always, with the product packaging which gives us more of an idea as to what the product is and what the key selling points are.
The front of the box displays the brand, model, images and important features of the product. Including the USB 7.1 Dolby Adapter, compatibility options and 50mm drivers. Corsair Gaming is branded to the box and follows the normal yellow on black graphics seen with previous models of VOID headset.
The back of the box, like most, features more details of the many features on offer by this product. Illustrations of multi-platform compatibility and images of the headset are the main points here to visually show you the looks and capabilities of said headset.
The Corsair Void Hybrid comes well packaged so rest your mind worrying if the product may be damaged while being shipped, it is in the box nice and securely.
In the box we have the Corsair VOID Hybrid headset, the spoken of 7.1 Dolby Surround USB adapter and paperwork. Now let’s have a look at the two main components, the headset and adapter, individually.
The adapter provided is a female 3.5mm 4 pole jack, headset end, to a standard 2.0 USB, PC end, to allow for up-scaling of audio to Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound on PC’s. This cool feature opens the market to any supporting platform with USB to use the, far superior, Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound.
Finally we have the Corsair VOID Hybrid Gaming Headset, sporting a cool red on black theme throughout the design and plenty of Corsair insignia dotted around.
The left ear cup holds most of the gear needed to make the hybrid an audio controllable device, by that we mean that it offers a volume scroll wheel and mute button as seen above and below.
