[section_title title=Closer Look]Closer Look
One of the main angles that House of Marley try to push with their range is the ‘green’ credentials of their products, with the aim of fitting in with the one love concept. Similar to the Chant speaker we reviewed, the Uplift earphones ship in a box made from recycled materials  – the end result not looking too different from my table.
The rear of the Uplift packaging highlights just what has been recycled in the production of the Uplift earphones, namely the beech wood and aluminium used on the earpieces themselves.
As to maintain their free and easy approach to all things, House of Marley make sure that the Uplift earphones can be up and running in no time at all with a distinct lack of unnecessary plastic packaging and wrapping.
There is also a – presumably – recycled fabric pouch included for carrying your Uplift earphones around with you. Â
A close-up of the earphone makes the aluminium finish appear plastic although an obvious metallic finish would look rather odd. Â
The included microphone control options support pause/play, volume up/down as well as previous/next track. In terms of voice and phone calling, the central button is used to connect and cancel phone calls. This specific SKU only supports Apple’s devices, however.
The aesthetic design of the Uplift looks quite cool with the split between wood, metal and the universal white earphone plastic done rather well. The Uplift are available in different colour schemes; black and brown/gold beech respectively. Â
