Conclusion
The life of a tech reviewer is a pretty good one. I get to experience with some of the newest, most exciting toys and gadgets around and all I have to do is give my opinion. Yet, when playing with high-end geekiness you can come to expect brilliance every time and be more disappointed than is really appropriate when faced with something that’s simply adequate.
The Infinity speaker is that – adequate. It’s not exceptional, but it’s not really inferior. Music and especially spoken word (if you’re into audio books) are relayed well enough albeit with a poor show in the bass department.
In my mind it’s too big for just a portable speaker and the sound is not good enough for an everyday speaker, but for occasional use or background listening as a group with a few beers it’s fine… and it’s not unpleasant to have sitting in your room while it’s not in use thanks to the crystal clear mirror in the front and nice black casing.
Would I buy it? Maybe. It would suit my young daughter who’ll appreciate the mirror, the lighting and the fact that it’s a bit of tech – and here the lack of bass would work in its favour since I wouldn’t want to hear her music while watching TV downstairs.
But, would I buy it to use myself? Probably not. It’s too big for me to consider portable and there are other speakers of similar price and with a better quality sound like the Kitsound Hive 2 that is currently available at Amazon for around £35 (at the time of review).
Thank you ThumbsUp! for providing me with this review sample.
