Introduction

Brand: ThumbsUp!

UK Price: £43.60 @ Amazon.co.uk (at time of review)

Today’s review comes from a company that you have probably never heard of, but you are almost certain to have seen their products available all over the internet as well as in magazines and newspapers. To say that ThumbsUp! produce a varied range of products is akin to saying the Atlantic Ocean is ‘some water’. With literally hundreds of products, you are pretty certain to find that novelty gift item you’re looking for – whether you want a Santa inspired Mankini or a mini DVI recorder.

You will probably be relieved to know that nobody in the office is sampling the Mankini, instead we have their Bluetooth Infinity Speaker. It combines an appealing design with a mirrored front panel and black frame  that promises ample sound the Infinity might just be the right Christmas gift for the party geek in your life… but how will it fare when I get to play with it?

Closer Look

Right out of the box, this is a handsome thing, although it was larger than I had imagined. The front panel is entirely mirrored, crystal clear and certainly good enough to use to do your make-up or have a shave.

The rest of the body is a black plastic affair apart from the metal grill over the speakers on each edge. I found myself touching this matt black plastic and being confused, as the texture is almost that of soft cloth yet when tapped it definitely feels solid plastic (or maybe a very hard rubber).

The control panel on top is by contrast made from glossy black plastic, consisting of up and down volume controls which double for forward and back playback and a stop button.

Around the back of the ThumbsUp! Infinity Speaker we have a manual on/off slider switch, LED indicator, 3.5mm audio in socket and a USB charging port.

Accessories are pretty simple, you get a USB cable to charge the speaker and an audio cable in case you can’t use Bluetooth with your chosen music player.
