Conclusion

In conclusion this is one awesome little case for the money, its obviously based on the Raijintek Metis, that much is painfully obvious. However I think the Element Gaming Atomic ITX case is something that stands well apart from the Raijintek case, simply because its so aesthetically pleasing when compared to the Metis. Performance wise its acceptable due to the amount of clean airflow that is directly above the socket which even allows for some pretty large CPU coolers to be installed. And obviously this space will accommodate an AIO cooler which will allow you to run some really high end CPU’s without breaking a sweat.  I would note that the use of space depends entirely on the board you choose for the build, some boards will have the socket almost next to the GPU which can lead to problems with heatpipes on larger coolers.

Now the one thing that will let this case down for the majority of people buying it is simply the placement of the PSU however much I personally love it, those yearning for a huge GPU in this case might feel somewhat disgruntled. This is because it sits below the GPU slot with the cables coming out at the top into the space shared by the GPU, fear not though the Silverstone 600W SFX  PSU will be handy if you plan on running a larger card,. I always suggest that SFF cases of this size should be based around a mini GPU like the 7700 or Nvidia mini cards, they take up less space and make the build so much easier. The case does come in at £50 which for an ITX case is about right, but I think at this price bracket you have awesome alternatives in a similar style from Lian Li, but if you are dead set on purchasing this case you won’t be disappointed. I do feel the Element logo on the front was the one thing I actually really disliked about the case.

Taking everything into account though, its a fun little case which comes with all the features I look for in an itx case. I feel the pricing is great, but could be a little lower. And the branding needs to be a little less “in your face”. But this does make a great case for your first ITX project if you find shuttle cases a little boring. Thank you Element Gaming for sending me this ITX case, I can’t wait to see what other SFF cases you have in store for us in the future! You took a plain case and made it a little more “Gracious”.

Bottom line – Its worth every penny if you like the aesthetic design of the case,
