Touching on the design first and it is very pleasing. The Aquila has a nice windowed side panel so users can show off their GPUs, making it great for gamers. It also features plenty of room on the inside of the case, making it good for enthusiasts and its overall look is quite elegant making it also a good choice for professionals in a business type environment. It is aesthetically pleasing, easy on the eyes and should have enough features to accommodate most user’s needs that would be interested in a case of this size.
Performance wise I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, while the Aquila does feature a front 200mm intake fan it is a smaller case and I wasn’t quite sure how everything underneath the motherboard tray would affect airflow and the overall temperature of the case. This actually doesn’t seem to have affected it at all and almost seems as if it may have helped a bit, paired with the 200mm intake fan everything inside the case seems to stay nice and cool, even when pushing the CPU to full load when overclocked.
Considering the price of the Aquila which is right around £75 and it offers good value for the money. It has some good features in the fact it has some water cooling support and it has plenty of room for hard drives and one of the cages which can be removed if need be. It comes with a pre-installed 200mm intake fan when paired with the top vent and 2-level design inside the case allows for good cooling environment. Let us also not forget it is pleasing to look at while being designed to be functional, all in all, it’s a very well-rounded case.
If you are in the market for a case that is designed m-ATX or m-ITX motherboards, the Aquila from Xigmatek is definitely a worthy choice. It has good features, design, and functionality and isn’t overly priced leaving it a well-rounded option. When all is said and done you could easily do a lot worse than the Aquila.
I would like to thank Xigmatek for sending the Aquila in for review and look forward to seeing more from them in the future.
