Some company’s names become synonymous with top quality products that not only caters to the general user, but to those demanding the best possible entertainment experience. One company that meets those requirements is ZOTAC which is based out of Hong Kong and for the best part of a decade, have been branching out further afield from their first creation; the Mag series. Having only been founded in 2006, they already have an impressive catalogue of products including HTPCs in the way of their ZBOX range, graphics cards and even turn heads with their Mini-ITX motherboards.
With all that being said, in terms of graphics cards, ZOTAC currently produce NVIDIA graphics cards and have also made waves over the past year or so with their AMP! series. NVIDIA have taken a bit of stick recently with their latest refresh of the GK110 chip but given that AMD recently released the R9 290x card which was supposed to “beat NVIDIA to the ground”, NVIDIA did their own thing.
In particular today, I will be taking a look at ZOTACs GTX 780 and GTX 780Ti AMP! Edition graphics cards which are based from NVIDIAs Titan series graphics cards. The GTX 780 and 780Ti both feature 3GB of GDDR5 and these particular models feature ZOTACs triple fan cooler. Is it good enough to justify their current price tags and does the 780Ti really give NVIDIA their “best single GPU card” crown back? Let’s find out, starting with their specifications…
