Closer Look
The Canary comes in a sleek white box, with a graphic of the Canary on the front and various features listed on the sides/back.
Inside the box, you have the Canary, flat micro USB cable, flat 3.5mm cable, USB power adaptor (UK plug in this instance), some stickers and a quick start guide.
The Canary itself has a cylindrical shape, with a white (grey and black also available) metal case, with black top, front and bottom. The top has some vents for when the unit gets quite toasty. The Canary features a full HD camera, with a 147° field of view. The main camera is surrounded by 12 IR LEDs that provide illumination when light levels are low. Below the camera is a microphone to capture any sound when a recording is taking place.
The Canary has three ports at the base of the camera on the back: 3.5mm jack (used for securely setting up the camera), micro USB – used for power and an Ethernet port, should you wish to opt for a wired connection.
So that’s the Canary, now I’ll set it up and check out the App
