The GroovyT surely is a “Magic Boom Box”. Its small compact design means it is easy to take along with you wherever you go. It is also so easy to use that anyone will be able to enjoy it. It truly does offer a lot of sound in a small package.
When I first received the GroovyT I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. It only has 3W speakers and I did not know how well the technology would work. To my amazement it all works great together and sounded better than I could have imagined. Don’t expect it to make your eardrums bleed but for the price tag of $14.99 (at the time of review) you are surely getting more than your monies worth.
The GroovyT is also so small that you can you can use it while playing your favourite game on your smart phone. Just turn it on, place your phone on top of it, pick them up together and enjoy all your favourite games whilst benefiting from an increased volume than your phone could offer.
The playback time of 5.5hours held up well during all our testing at around 75% volume. I did notice with some songs, mostly hip-hop, that when the GroovyT was at 100% volume there would be some distortion. This is really only to be expected for the size and price of the unit. With that being said, turning the volume down on my phone a couple of clicks got rid of the distortion and was still more than loud enough to use in the house.
The only issue that may affect people is the fact that the smart phone or tablet needs to stay on top of the GroovyT during use. For me this is fine but some may want to have easier access to their phone while also listening to music from portable speakers. I think this is easily overlooked, especially for the price.
Overall the GroovyT surpassed my expectations and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a portable set of speakers. With that being said I would like to award it with our Gold, Value and Editors Choice awards.

Summary
Overall, the GroovyT offers premium sound in a small, cost efficient package. If you are looking for an easy to use portable speaker with great functionality the GroovyT is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
