Introduction

Having recently reviewed many different components from MSI over the past couple of months, it was no surprise that we were asked to take a look at another one!  To give you a brief overview of MSI’s impressive history, in 1986 they were established, 1 year later they introduced the first overclockable 286 motherboard, and 10 years later in 1997 they introduced the world’s first number 1 Intel Pentium II motherboard with Intel’s MNX technology integrated.  Fast forward to today and they have had so many awards, it would probably take me all day to list them which is a very impressive achievement.  They are not only one of the world’s leading motherboard manufacturers, but they also recently took the notebook world by storm.

Speaking about motherboards, today I will be taking a look at their latest budget gaming series board, the Z87 G43 Gaming which features Crossfire support, the renowned Killer E2200 networking port that gamers have recently craved for and even an on-board Sound Blaster Cinema audio chip.  With many features of more expensive socket 1150 motherboards, can this so called budget board dominate in our testing?  Let’s find out, starting with what MSI have to say about their G43 Gaming…

What MSI have to say about the Z87 Gaming Series motherboards:

MSI GAMING motherboards are designed to provide gamers with best-in-class features and technology. Backed by the imposing looks of MSI’s Dragon, each motherboard is an engineering masterpiece tailored to gaming perfection.
