[section_title title=Closer Look]Closer Look
Taking an overall look at the Netgear R6300 wireless router, the main panel is a very glossy black which looks very stylish in my opinion and has a yellow/gold strip at the bottom which fades from the top into a more solid colour towards the bottom; this is not an LED feature and is there 100% of the time. I personally like the look of it and really think it works well.
On the front panel of the R6300, we also have the LED indicators which include notifications regarding power, connection activity to the internet, Wi-Fi and a USB notification light. On the right hand side we also the same thing but on the side of them is a Wi-Fi on/off switch and WPS button; these are located on the side of the router. Next to the buttons there is also an USB 2.0 port which can be used to connect devices such as external HDDs.
The rear of the Netgear R6300 also has a glossy effect black coating which is literally reflective when in contact with direct light. It has a triangle like design which I do like but I feel it is a little much and a solid gloss finish like the front would have looked nice; in my opinion of course!
At the bottom of the router we have a USB 3.0 port, 4 x RJ45 Ethernet ports for connecting various different devices, an RJ45 port to connect the router to your modem and an on/off power switch. Next to the power switch, there is a small reset switch in which you will need to find something like a paper clip or a nib from a pen to press in.
Finally we have the bottom of the router which you could also call the base. This has information regarding the various network information such as the Wi-Fi key/name to get you started (these can be changed during setup). There is also information such as the serial number, model number and safety information which is present on all electrical devices within the EU.
