[section_title title=”Software”]SoftwareÂ
Lets take a look at the software.
The first page of the software allows us full control to reassign the buttons on the mouse and there are a good deal of functions available to get the functionality just where you want it. The ‘mapping’ option at the bottom refers to profiles that you can switch between. These screenshots were taken at 1080p by the way, the aliasing around the edges is absolutely hideous; I can’t see how it got out the door looking like this.
Clicking the silver arrow which confusingly isn’t labelled in any way extends a more detailed menu and the default tab is for macro management. As you can see the options are pretty basic but should still serve most.
The ‘advance’ screen has most of the bare minimum features I like to see such as lift off distance adjustment and DPI range settings but it also features colour customisation that corresponds to the ‘mapping’ or profile that the mouse is in. Oddly though only the scroll wheel and the Tesoro logo change colour, the rest of the mouse still glows blue. That big red reset button not even having centred text really bothers me.
Finally we have the about screen which gives us a support link and a bit of branding with the slogan ‘Break the Rules’.
Now the software does pretty much all the essentials so I can’t knock it too much functionality wise but between the aliased edges, bad descriptions, unintuitive side menus and general lack of attention to detail with things like the reset button I really am disappointed to see software like this accompany a mouse in this price point.
So the Gandiva isn’t looking good at the moment and the review isn’t going so well either, perhaps it can redeem itself with awesome performance?
