[section_title title=”Conclusion”] Conclusion

Coming into the conclusion of this review, the MSI GT60 2PE is in a tricky position due to the sheer price its components and performance invoke. Without question, there is no value proposition here but more a case of how much can I get for my money – and the GT60 knocks it out of the park here.

If you’ve got the money to spend, there is a plausible solution in the GT60 to replace your gaming desktop. The performance is here, the display is next-gen and importantly, the GT60 is still a laptop that can be packed away and take with you wherever you go – if there is a value proposition here it’s certainly one the GT60 fits whereas not all gaming laptops are really portable.

MSI’s push for a console like experience through the partnership with Xsplit and SteelSeries also ensures that the GT60 has something other laptops don’t have. MSI have got the streaming crowd covered with their out of the box offering and the SteelSeries partnership has merit in providing a gaming keyboard on a gaming laptop.

Assuming there isn’t a specific need or want from a possible gaming laptop purchase, it’s hard to argue that you should go anywhere other than the GT60, or at least, MSI. The GT60 is a proper gaming laptop fit to replace a desktop and even if you’re not looking to buy in at the minute, MSI’s exploration of how they can and have revamped the gaming laptop is reassuring in terms of what you could expect to find in their future products. Taking into account that Nvidia’s Maxwell is looking to be delayed until this time next year, it’s unlikely the GT60 2PE will be unseated from it’s ivory tower of portable performance and with that in mind, the GT60 2PE appears to be best the gaming laptop at 15″.

Summary

MSI have created a bona fide gaming desktop replacement in the GT60 2PE. High-end components coupled with a 3K screen, the GT60 2PE is enthusiast in every way and sadly, price.
