What do we think?
Personally I love the caselogics DSLR bag, it was comfy to try on. And it boasts huge amounts of space both internally and externally (in regards to side mounting a tripod). Now this product wasn’t super fashionable, I mean there are so many more “really cool super fashionable” bags out there! But the actual product design? It felt as if time was invested in simple areas – all polished and study! Everything was there for a reason, it has probably more pockets and places to stash things than I could possibly think of uses for! But this is what the everyday photographer needs, whether it’s another place to stash a 50mm prime.. or a place to hide some duct tape..
Most of all though, I loved how whilst this product wasn’t super fashionable. It still didn’t look bad, it has a sleek and almost stealthy design. Admittedly you’ll never see it at a milan cat walk… know this is a bag afterall. But it’s the sort of bag you can rely on, I wouldn’t mind throwing some clothes, and my DSLR / laptop and gadgets into, and running away for the weekend with my camera. So it’s a great all-rounder for the hobbyist photographer who still loves DSLRS more than mirrorless cameras. You could probably also use this as just an everyday bag – if you removed all the internal padding to suit your needs. Afterall – not everyone has twenty DSLRS!
Even in the rain, this bag has you covered with a protective coating, and a more heavy duty rain protector. Which spends it’s days in the anti-theft pocket! Another feature I really liked. Now the question…
Would we buy this?
Actually I did buy this, and I’d happily recommend adding the Case logics camera bag to your range of tools to get that perfect shot! Now we could really write all day about a bag – but is it a bag that delivers. Keeping all those photography products safe? We think so, and it does it at a reasonable price tag! We loved the thought put into all the places to stash gear, and we think it would endure day today dasks without falling to pieces! Our only regret was – we had to use the old Canon 30d as a prop to show off some of the features. The 30d looked quite sad looking up at it’s Nikon replacement.
RATINGS EXPLAINED:
Performance: We gave the case logic DSLR bag a 4.3 for performance, it’s hard to rate a bags performance! But we found it to be rugged and easy to use on a day to day basis. Quickly deploying gear, whilst keeping it all snug and safe.
Design: We gave the case logic DSLR bag a 4.2 for design, it’s well made and you definitely notice the hard work put into creating a bag that’s comfy – but holds an incredible amount of gear. But they’d thought about simple things.. which is nice.
Value: As with all premium products you’ll find that some features add a large amount of value to the product, however! For a photography bag? £60-£70 isn’t that much of a spend, especially with the quality you get.
If you want to buy this bag, I recommend checking out gearzap.com! We literally ordered this the night before and it appeared, super quick delivery! They also have an awesome range of laptop bags and accessories I’d check out.
