Since this is part of the Metro Redux release, this game plays exactly like Metro 2033 in every way.  The wiping of your mask of course is there, which I do really love because it immerses you in the game that extra bit more, and really makes you pay attention at all times throughout the experience.  You also have to manage your light, but in this game your light is even more imporant than ever before, there are creatures in this game that are a strange spider/scorpion hybrid that can be killed by the power of your light.  This adds a whole new layer to this game, you will be forced to look out for these creatures wherever you go, and it doesn’t help that they are creepy as all hell to boot!  Like before of course you must keep tabs on your ammo and filters to survive the game, you would only really have to keep an eye on them though when you’re playing on the harder difficulties.

The monsters in this game are vastly improved upon with the addition of the new hybrid bugs that are massively allergic to light.  They really make you more aware of your surroundings within the game, you will have to look for places where they can just pop out from.  The creatures from before are also in the game, and are as good as ever, which adds again because it means there are more to contend with in the game, so you have to look out for multiple types of creatures as well as the humans.  The humans are massive in this game, with the Nazi party and the Red Line party playing massive parts in the story, which sees a new character called Pavel who is a part of the Red Line.

With all the DLC being added to this game, it means you will have a bunch of extra hours worth of gameplay on your hands with this title.  The DLC that was really worth it when they were all out was the Faction Pack and the Chronicles Pack, mostly because it adds more to the game that I personally wanted!  The Faction Pack added 3 missions to the game, one was to play as a Sniper for the Red Line, another was as a Polis Ranger and the other as a Reich Heavy Squad Soldier, with added weapons too.  The best of these 3 was the Polis Ranger mission where you basically got to free roam and go to the Lenin Library and collect things and take them back to your base, which meant you could ultimately play this mission as long as you really wanted to.  The Chronicles Pack allows you to have another 3 missions where you play as Anna, Pavel and Khan with Ulman, this is worth it because you get more depth into these 3 characters, with Khan being my personal favourite that I got to see more of.
