Closer Look
Cryorig’s familiar design scheme is here again with a large image of the cooler shown across the box front and side panel. There’s the small nameplate with a brief description of the C7 on the front. In the top right, you see a small Cryorig nameplate. On the side of the box, you will again find the main benefits of the cooler.
Around the back of the box, nothing changes either. Specifications of the heatsink and fan, as well as motherboard compatibility, cover the entire panel and the last face shows a very large ‘C7’ as we would have expected if you remember the scheme from previous reviews.
Out of the box and looking straight down gives a clear view of that 92mm fan which features a braided cable though the braid does feel quite cheap.
This side view of the Cryorig C7 gives a much better indication of the minuscule nature of the cooler as well as showing how four U-shaped heat pipes have been crammed into the device.
With the C7 being such a low profile cooler there’s not much in the way of air outlets in the bottom so it relies on some flow through the side as well. Here we can see that with the sides being nice and open there should be plenty of opportunities for the air to escape.
Accessories are truly limited, just the backplate and four bolts and a syringe of thermal compound. The thermal compound included with the C7 is Cryorig’s CP7 High-Density CRYO-Paste but as usual, we will be using Noctua NT-H1. We have nothing against Cryorig’s paste, but we want continuity in our tests and here we are specifically testing the cooler itself and not the paste – stay tuned later this year though for the 2016 update of our Thermal Paste Review to see how those are progressing.
There’s also a manual (not pictured) which makes reference to a tool that comes supplied to help tighten the bolts when installing. I couldn’t find any such tool in my pack but it may have been misplaced before I received the cooler for review as it was provided having already been opened.
Now, on with the testing…
