Manufacturer: Kingston
Model: HyperX Cloud
Price: £61 (at time of review)

Normally when we think of Kingston, and the now well established HyperX brand we would immediately think of NAND storage and RAM because Kingston are a leading name in both and a dominant force in the global consumer and OEM markets alike. However like a growing number of PC hardware giants they are looking to diversify their product catalogue and are making the play to try and be on top of your desk as well as under it.

For Kingston this expansion is coming on the back of the HyperX brand moving into a more separate gamer/enthusiast focused entity and the first gaming product Kingston are trying their hand at is a headset which we have here today in the form of the HyperX Cloud. Looking at it on paper we seem to have all the right ingredients, 50 (ish) mm drivers, part aluminium construction, detachable mic and so on so lets see if Kingston have effectively translated the performance and quality ethos of their hardware into a peripheral.
