[section_title title=”Packaging”]Packaging

Taking a closer look at the packaging Scuf have gone with for the Hybrid controller, the first thing I noticed was the bold black with its white and green accents/text.  This has a nice contrast and although black is quite a dull colour; it fades in with a little grey towards the right hand side.

On the front is a clear illustration of the controller itself which pertains to the model on show.  Of course the outside packaging is designed as a sleeve and reveals the actual box that contains the controller itself.  A lot of companies have opted for this style of packaging over the years and I feel it allows users to slide off the sleeve and take a peek inside without damaging the packaging; in a retail environment this is paramount.

On the rear of the box, it follows the same kind of design as the front but instead we have an illustration of the reverse side of the controller; a rather ingenious design and something Scuf gets my approval on.

Upon opening the box itself, there is a card which contains information on how to setup your chosen controller.  This card is generic and has information for not only wired versions but also the wireless ones.  It also contains a “Scuf key” which is used to adjust the trigger pull resistance; pretty much how mechanical keyboards work with Cherry MX switches, this key allows you to add stiffness to the trigger buttons and reduce it as required.

Finally we have the inner packaging which is essentially soft black foam which ensures the controller is protected during transit.  This is also the first glimpse of the Scuf Hybrid which is worth noting is the black version with white buttons.
