This plays like any first person shooter out there really except for the added things like gadgets, tools, etc. It doesn’t really feel like any particular big fps game out there, mostly because they’ve decided to make this very different from any first person shooter multiplayer out there. It is all about attacking and defending, one team will defend a building, from the attackers, most stick to the one room the target is in and do their best to completely protect it too. The attackers job is to either kill everyone inside so the target is free for them or somehow get to the target while the enemies aren’t around it and defend it till the timer is done or until you get the hostage to safety. It has launched with 11 maps already (7 more than Battlefront), it is reported there are also more to come in DLC, which to be fair, with the game concept, they will have tons of ideas for maps.

I wasn’t sure when I first loaded up the beta that this game was going to be as successful as I was hoping it would be. That is one thing I’m thankfully wrong with, the community is more than thriving, with it being number one on the Steam sellers list right now and probably first on Uplay too. I don’t see it being a game that will go away anytime soon unless Ubisoft tries to turn this into a franchise where they try and release a new game every year or two which I hope they don’t. I could easily see this game being an eSport game due to how it’s not all about luck, the preparation that goes into this is essential both from the defenders and attackers side. I would be rather happy to see this game become a kind of Battlefield style release where one is released every few years rather than one every year, this gives the game time to be played by people and of course to develop a new game and maps.

I’ve already talked about Situations before and how they’re basically the campaign of the game that also prepares you for multiplayer. Then there was the multiplayer, it goes without saying you need to be rather clever with taking out the enemies compared to how with NPC’s you can basically go in a door shoot and move on. Thankfully the community isn’t like the LoL or CoD community where if one person isn’t up to par with the team, they get bashed till they leave. The camera the attackers use are a really smart addition and although they’re easy to see, dear lord are they annoying to shoot, they’re also very handy when you’re already in the building and want to see around a corner! I’ve found the community to be very forgiving for any shortcomings I had during a match/round, thankfully FPS games aren’t ones I suck at too badly and I didn’t have to apologise for too much to everybody, I did blow myself up once though…

The best part of this game is the operators, the sheer amount of gadgets/tools that goes along with them is rather unreal. Each operator will choose a loadout, some have different things available from others, but every operator has their own special ability that is used with the middle mouse button.  The best part with this though is the fact no player can use the same operator if someone has already chosen that one, this means that everyone will have different operators and you won’t be stuck with a team of people with the Tactical Shield or the Brimstone breach charge.
